Hunt, April

April Hunt attended Foran High School in Milford where she played basketball, volleyball, and softball. She was a dominating center from 1973 – 1976 and in her senior year, helped lead Fo-ran to a 17 – 2 regular season record. Under the guidance of Coach Edna Fraser, Foran entered the Class L CIAC Tournament ranked fourth in a field of 22 teams. They advanced to the quarterfinals for the third straight time. With a final record of 19-3, the 1975-1976 Foran team registered the best season in school history. Hunt was named an All-State player.

Hunt was the first female athlete in Milford to receive an athletic scholarship to college. Hunt continued her basketball career at the University of Wisconsin- Madison for coach Edwina Qualls. Hunt captained the team during her sophomore year and graduated in 1982.
